Michelle Malkin, NRO: The David Brooks You DO Know

“New York Times columnist David Brooks is the Eddie Haskell of the Fourth Estate. Like the two-faced sycophant in Leave It to Beaver, Brooks indulges in excessive politeness while currying favor with political authority. He prides himself on an oily semblance of maturity and rational discourse.

“But the phony ‘conservative’ back-stabber, who has spent the last four years slavering over Barack Obama like a One Direction groupie and trashing the Tea Party like an MSNBC junkie, isn’t fooling anyone…”

Victor Davis Hanson, NRO: Middle East Madness

“This administration doesn’t get it.”
“Last week, Muslim mobs took to the streets to murder the American ambassador in Libya and three of his staffers. American embassies were attacked from Egypt to Yemen.

“Embarrassed White House press secretary Jay Carney and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice insisted that these assaults were just reactions to an insensitive video that disparaged Islam and was circulating on the Internet. As embassies burned, we were assured that there was no animosity directed at America in general, or at this administration and its foreign policy in particular.

“That is hogwash. The weeks-old video was a mere pretext, in the manner of the Danish cartoons that Islamists used to stir up mobs in their war against the West. The street rioting was long ago synchronized across the Middle East to celebrate the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

“Apparently, the administration was left stunned and without a clue about the latest Middle East madness…”

Charles Krauthammer, WaPo: “Collapse of the Cairo Doctrine”

“In the week following 9/11/12 something big happened: the collapse of the Cairo Doctrine, the centerpiece of President Obama’s foreign policy. It was to reset the very course of post-9/11 America, creating, after the (allegedly) brutal depredations of the Bush years, a profound rapprochement with the Islamic world.

Never lacking ambition or self-regard, Obama promised in Cairo, June 4, 2009, “a new beginning” offering Muslims ‘mutual respect,’ unsubtly implying previous disrespect. Curious, as over the previous 20 years, America had six times committed its military forces on behalf of oppressed Muslims, three times for reasons of pure humanitarianism (Somalia, Bosnia, Kosovo), where no U.S. interests were at stake.

“But no matter. Obama had come to remonstrate and restrain the hyperpower that, by his telling, had lost its way…”

Ben Shapiro, Big Peace: Terrorist an Obama Ally “Of Sorts”

“Tonight, Bret Baier of Fox News reported that intelligence sources believe that the mastermind of the al Qaeda attack on our Libyan consulate is one Sufyan Ben Qumu. Qumu was a tank driver in the Libyan army; he was a drug addict and spent time in prison. From there, he fled to Egypt, then went to Afghanistan and joined up with Osama Bin Laden. He later joined the Taliban, and was captured in Pakistan, then turned over to the United States. Qumu was released from Guantanamo Bay in 2007 to the Qaddafi-led Libyan government, on the condition that Libya and the US could reach a “satisfactory agreement … that allows access to detainee and/or access to exploited intelligence.” In 2008, as the Qaddafi government made nice with the Libyan rebels, Qumu was released.

“That’s where the story gets even more interesting. The Obama administration promptly labeled Qumu an ‘ally of sorts,’ according to the New York Times – that despite the fact that as of 2005, he was known as a ‘medium to high risk … likely to pose a threat to the US, its interests and allies.’ What made him an ally? According to the Times, that status change was due to the Obama administration’s ‘remarkable turnabout resulting from shifting American policies rather than any obvious change in Mr. Qumu.’…”

Marc Thiessen, WaPo: “Obama attends daily intelligence meeting 5 days in a row . . . for the first time in seven months”

“Good news. According to official White House schedule, today the president attended his daily intelligence meeting in the Oval Office for the fifth day in a row. It appears that President Obama’s attendance has improved dramatically since the Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. that he had skipped more than half his daily intelligence meetings during his time in office — including every day in the week leading up to the attacks on U.S. diplomatic facilities in Egypt and Libya.

“White House press secretary Jay Carney dismissed those reports as ‘hilarious’ and ‘amusing’ last week, claiming that ‘when he is physically here, most days he has a meeting in his office, the Oval one (laughter), with participants in his national security team, including obviously Tom Donilon and others.’

“So is that true? I asked the Government Accountability Institute to check when was the last time Obama attended his daily intelligence meeting for five consecutive business days. They report that the last time was Feb. 6 to 10 — over seven months ago…”–for-the-first-time-in-seven-months/2012/09/20/d47d9fce-034e-11e2-91e7-2962c74e7738_blog.html

Erick Erickson, Red State: Blame Bush

Thanks Ted,

“Last night Fox News broke the story that the mastermind of the attack in Libya had been released from GTMO in 2007 during the reign of George Chimpy McBushitler Halliburton and his evil Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, also known as Barack Obama’s Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

“But wait . . . there’s more. The United States had advance warning of the attack and only sent Marines in to secure the facility after it had been blown up and after the American Ambassador had been dragged through the street dead. Otherwise, the Consulate was guarded by locals. We also are now pretty certain there was no riot in Libya, just an attack.

“The Administration’s whole story around what happened and what they knew is now collapsing. Were George W. Bush the President, the media would be going blind in the Politico’s bathroom coming up with stories about ‘impeachment whispers’ or ‘echoes of the Tet Offensive’ or ‘where is Walter Cronkite when we need him’ or some such.

“As the sun rises this morning, look for the media to start blaming George W. Bush…”

Ross Kaminsky, American Spectator: “Blown Cover”

Thanks Ted,

“On Wednesday afternoon, Fox News reported “developing” news thatSufyan bin Qumu (full name Abu Sufian Ibrahim Ahmed Hamuda Bin Qumu ), a terrorist who was released from Guantanamo Bay to the Libyan government, may have been actively involved in, or perhaps the leader of, the assault on America’s consulate in Benghazi that killed our ambassador and three other American personnel.

“The release of bin Qumu, who goes by many aliases, was made in 2007, during the George W. Bush administration.

“Fox News also reported on Wednesday that it obtained a Department of Homeland Security intelligence report “showing that two days before the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, a statement incited ‘sons of Egypt’ to pressure America to release the so-called blind sheikh ‘even if it requires burning the embassy down with everyone in it.'”

“The administration’s ongoing assertion that the violence was only about a juvenile film trailer, and that it did not represent an attack on America for some other reason, is rapidly falling apart.

“It was a sign either of narcissism or incompetence (most likely both) for the administration to have doubled down on such an unlikely claim…”

Michael Savage, WND: Holocaust Emerges from Muslims in Europe

“Kristallnacht vs Recent Anti-Semitic Attacks in France

“Kristallnacht, also referred to as the Night of Broken Glass, series of coordinated attacks against Jews throughout Nazi Germany and Austria November 9–10, 1938, carried out by SA paramilitary and civilians. German authorities looked on without intervening. The attacks left the streets covered with broken glass from the windows of Jewish-owned stores, buildings, and synagogues. At least 91 Jews were killed in the attacks, and a further 30,000 arrested and incarcerated in concentration camps. Jewish homes, hospitals, and schools were ransacked, as the attackers demolished buildings with sledgehammers. Over 1,000 synagogues were burned (95 in Vienna alone), and over 7,000 Jewish businesses destroyed or damaged. The pretext for the attacks was the assassination of German diplomat Ernst vom Rath by Herschel Grynszpan, a German-born Polish Jew in Paris, France. Kristallnacht was followed by further economic and political persecution of Jews, and is viewed by historians as part of Nazi Germany’s broader racial policy, and the beginning of the Final Solution and The Holocaust.

TODAY – Paris – Four were injured when a small package bomb exploded inside a kosher grocery store in a Paris suburb…”

Jeff Poor, Daily Caller: “Limbaugh – Is Obama setting off the violent protests around the Middle East?”

“On Thursday’s broadcast of his radio program, conservative talker Rush Limbaugh said it was a possibility that by blaming an anti-Islam video for violence in the Middle East, the Obama administration itself is at fault for the past, present and perhaps future unrest in the region.

“Let me ask you a quick question — we now know because of the Benghazi attack, it was not precipitated because of the video,” he said. “We know this now. We know that it was planned in advance, timed to 9/11. We know a former Gitmo prisoner had a role in it. We know that our ambassador and three others are dead. And we know that there is no leadership in this country that is dealing with this. Let me ask you a question: By feeding the false narrative about this video, this movie that nobody saw — could it be that the Obama administration is in fact setting off protests across the Middle East?”

“Limbaugh noted this all began with the press release originally issued by the U.S. Embassy in Cairo — that had since been walked back — blaming the video.

“Isn’t it logical to conclude that every time a member of this administration goes on television worldwide and talks about this video — don’t forget how all of this started,” Limbaugh said. “Some wizard of smart in our embassy in Cairo sent out an official release from the embassy apologizing for this movie before anything had happened…”

CBS: “Fed Judge Rules In Favor Of Attack Ads at MTA Stations Targeting Radical Muslims”

“Transit Agency Overruled; Pro-Israeli Ads to Include Terms ‘Savage’ and ‘Jihad’

“On the region’s subways and buses, most ads we see don’t get much attention. But that may change with a pro-Israel ad that will soon grace MTA property which reads: “In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat jihad.”

The ad is a clear swipe against radical Muslims.

Jeffrey Lord, American Spectator: “Redistributor in Chief”

Thanks Ted,

“Shall we play a game?

“Which of these things doesn’t belong?

“Health care.
“Gas Prices.

“Answer? They all belong.

“They all belong to the redistributionist World of Obama.

“Let’s work our way through these items one by one for a glimpse of what Obama’s re-distributionism has in fact meant…”

Bryan Preston, PJM: “What does it take to get fired…”

“The last ten days have revealed a piece of good news, in a morbid sort of way. At a time of rampant economic uncertainty with millions of Americans facing the prospect of layoffs or having their hours and pay cut, there is one place left on earth where one’s job is so secure that no power — not lawbreaking, not even lethal incompetence — can trigger termination. That place is the Obama administration…”

Diane Cardwell, NYT: “Tax Credit in Doubt, Wind Power Industry Is Withering”

“FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. — Last month, Gamesa, a major maker of wind turbines, completed the first significant order of its latest innovation: a camper-size box that can capture the energy of slow winds, potentially opening new parts of the country to wind power.

“But by the time the last of the devices, worth more than $1.25 million, was hitched to a rail car, Gamesa had furloughed 92 of the 115 workers who made them…”

James Antle, Daily Caller: Toomey Predicts PA Romney Win

“Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey predicted on a conference call Thursday that Mitt Romney would win his state in November.

“I think he’s going to carry Pennsylvania,” Toomey said of the Republican presidential nominee.

Keystone State polling hasn’t been encouraging for the GOP ticket in recent weeks. A survey of Pennsylvanians released Tuesday by We Ask America showed President Barack Obama leading Romney by 48.1 percent to 42.2 percent. Obama’s nearly six-point lead is outside the poll’s margin of error…”

Keegan Gibson, Politics PA: PAGOP Poll: “Prez, Senate Races Within the Margin of Error”

“If a pollster took a poll of Pennsylvania polls, he or she might conclude that today’s from Susquehanna Polling and Research is an outlier. Commissioned by the Pa. Republican Party, the survey shows both the presidential and the U.S. Senate races within the margin of error.

“Barack Obama leads Mitt Romney by 8.6 percent in Pa., according to an average compiled by Real Clear Politics, and Sen. Bob Casey leads Republican Tom Smith by an RCP average of 15.3 points.

“So why does the SP&R poll – which shows Obama ahead just 48 percent to 47, and Casey ahead just 45 percent to 42 – differ so much from the norm?…”

Leo Knepper, CAP: “Nearly Bankrupt School Pays Over $400k Unused Sick Time”

Harriburg: “Against a backdrop of ‘tight’ financial conditions, it is rather shocking to learn that the district paid over $410,000 to retiring employees for sick time that was accumulated and never used. According to a report on the matter from WGAL (emphasis added):

‘One retiring teacher received a taxpayer-funded check for unused sick days totaling more than $34,000.

That’s just $4,000 shy of the average annual salary for a Pennsylvania worker.

‘Other district retirees received checks for $22,000, $23,000 and $25,000 just for bankrolling hundreds of sick days and cashing out at retirement.”

“The vast majority of taxpayers, who are ultimately picking up the bill, don’t have the ability to save up their sick days. Unfortunately, this is only one example of an absurd benefit that teachers (and other public sector workers) have accumulated at the expense of taxpayers…”

Jessica Beym, NJ: “Camden, NJ, is poorest city in United States: Census Bureau reports”

“New statistics released by the U.S. Census Bureau suggest Camden, N.J. has bested Reading, P.A. as the poorest city in the country, according to NBC.

“Recent census figures show the poverty rate in Reading — home to 88,000 people — dropped from 41.3 percent in 2010 to 40.1 in 2011.

“According to the Reading Eagle, the city’s average household income increased 2.8 percent in 2011 to $34,083.

“The changes make Reading the sixth-poorest city in the United States…”

ACTION ALERT: Smart Meters Protest – October 4th

October 4th is National Day to protest against Smart Meters. I am trying to organize a trip to Harrisburg to protest the PUC. They are the group who is mandating PECO put these dangerous meters on your house. If everyone could send out to as many people as possible, that would be great.

Anyone interested, please let me know. I am trying to work with groups around PA to get this moving. After the protest, we need to go into the reps offices and urge them to push the bills out of committee.
