9/12/1782: Betty Zane ran through Brit and Indian bullets with a table cloth filled with gunpowder… this was one of the final battles of our Revolution. Wheeling, West VA, now stands on the site and there is a plaque honoring her.

9/9/2011: “This is not the capitalism of free men and free markets, of innovation and hard work and ethics, of sacrifice and of risk,” she said of the crony variety. She added: “It’s the collusion of big government and big business and big finance to the detriment of all the rest — to the little guys. It’s a slap in the face to our small business owners — the true entrepreneurs, the job creators accounting for 70 percent of the jobs in America.” Sarah Palin.

September 17th : Philadelphia TEA Party – Read the Constitution & Freedom Run

Volunteers needed by Diana Reimer:

Register to participate at

Help Wanted; Gun Show, Sept 16, 17, 18

“We need two hours or so of your time. Our table at the gun show will display literature about our Tea Party. Best of all, it gives us the rare opportunity to have face-to-face chats with members of the public. We expect that gun show attendees are a promising audience for our message, and hopefully we can recruit new members.

“You need not know anything about guns to help man our table, although a few of us can give you some instruction if you desire.

“Please respond to this email now, with your willingness to help, and include which day (or days) are OK for you. We’ll announce the times in a couple of days. Let me know now so we can make up our manning roster for the table.”

Lou Flanagan,

Pennsylvanians need to communicate to the PA State Republican Party, aka State Committee, that nothing less than a return to Republican Party principles will be tolerated by the PA Republican electorate.

The PA GOP leadership continues with their establishment politics of endorsing candidates in primaries to protect their status quo and will continue to deny the Republican voters of Pennsylvania their RIGHT to choose the leaders that they want to represent them.

It is time to show PA GOP leadership that the voting Republicans CAN UNDERSTAND, DO UNDERSTAND, and WILL NOT STAND for leadership making the voting decisions in the State of Pennsylvania and taking away the voice of the voters.

We are asking constituents from every county in Pennsylvania to attend the General Republican Meeting on Saturday September 17th, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Harrisburg Hilton, 1 North Second Street, Harrisburg, PA, and personally experience the disdain that PA GOP leadership has for their fellow Republicans. Please understand, the ”leadership” is not elected.

Please join with fellow Republican voters in unity to make a stand against the strong-arm tactics of the Pennsylvania GOP leadership.

Please RSVP  if attending

Peggy Noonan, WSJ: Never Get Over 9/11, Nor Should We

This is a replay…

“…They tell us to get over it, they say to move on, and they mean it well: We can’t bring an air of tragedy into the future. But I will never get over it. To get over it is to get over the guy who stayed behind on a high floor with his friend who was in a wheelchair. To get over it is to get over the woman by herself with the sign in the darkness: “America You Are Not Alone.” To get over it is to get over the guys who ran into the fire and not away from the fire.

“You’ve got to be loyal to pain sometimes to be loyal to the glory that came out of it.”

Barry Rubin, PJM: Who’s Winning after September 11?

“Ten years after September 11, 2001, when the very phrase “war on terrorism” is barred from U.S. government usage by the president, we are told that the United States has won or is already victorious. After all, there has been no major attack on U.S. soil in a decade and al-Qaeda is weaker, with many of its leaders, including Osama bin Laden, dead.

“Where is that band”? According to the official line, pretty much destroyed. We won, perhaps except for a few “lone wolves.” But before the victory parades are held, let’s understand this: The war on terrorism, like that phrase itself, has been largely defined out of existence, not won.

“Let’s be clear. Al-Qaeda attacked the World Trade Center and Pentagon to achieve several goals:

–To become the leader in a worldwide jihad.

–To persuade Muslims that America is weak and can be defeated.

–To stir far more Muslims to jihad, that is a Holy War that today can be defined as an Islamist revolution.

–To mobilize forces in order to challenge and eventually to overthrow all of the existing regimes in the Sunni Muslim areas, replacing Arab nationalism in many of those countries with Islamism as the main ideological force.

“I would suggest that al-Qaeda’s September 11 attacks largely succeeded in three of those four goals. Only in the first did it fail, and for a very good reason. Precisely because it carried out the attacks, al-Qaeda became the main target for U.S. efforts and repression by leaders in Muslim-majority countries. Consequently, it has suffered greatly from losses.

“By the same token, however, other Islamist forces have largely been left alone by the West or faced far less pressure. Such groups include the Muslim Brotherhood groups, Hamas, Hizballah, and the pro-Islamist regimes in Syria and Iran. In fact, Islamist groups and Islamism as an ideology have advanced impressively, especially in the last few years…

Mark Steyn, NRO: “Let’s Roll” to “Let’s Roll Over”

“Waiting to be interviewed on the radio the other day, I found myself on hold listening to a public service message exhorting listeners to go to and tell their fellow citizens how they would be observing the tenth anniversary of the, ah, “tragic events.” There followed a sound bite of a lady explaining that she would be paying tribute by going and cleaning up an area of the beach.

“Great! Who could object to that? Anything else? Well, another lady pledged that she ‘will continue to discuss anti-bullying tactics with my grandson.’

“Marvelous. Because studies show that many middle-school bullies graduate to hijacking passenger jets and flying them into tall buildings?

“Whoa, ease up on the old judgmentalism there, pal. In New Jersey, many of whose residents were among the dead, middle-schoolers will mark the anniversary with a special 9/11 curriculum that will ‘analyze diversity and prejudice in U.S. history.’ And, if the ‘9/11 Peace Story Quilt’ at the Metropolitan Museum of Art teaches us anything, it’s that the ‘tragic events’ only underline the ‘importance of respect.’ And ‘understanding.’ As one of the quilt panels puts it:

“You should never feel left out

“You are a piece of a puzzle

“And without you the whole picture can’t be seen.”

“And if that message of ‘healing and unity’ doesn’t sum up what happened on September 11th 2001, what does? A painting of a plane flying into a building? A sculpture of bodies falling from a skyscraper? Oh, don’t be so drearily literal…”

Aaron Klein, WABC: 911 & Islam

A marvelous audio clip from 3-3:25 PM…Klein interviews…with a different cell phone every three minutes…an Al Qaeda leader who affirms their goal to end the United States…the Center for American Progress holds hands with CAIR and ISNA…one of its leaders was Leon Panetta, now director of our CIA. AQ is embedded in Libya…and American leadership has led American denial of Muslim goals…more!

Victor Davis Hanson, PJM: Post-9/11

“Like millions of Americans, I did not sleep much on the night of September 11. I was horrified all day, but by the evening of September 11, 2001, increasingly angry. Horrified because 3,000 innocents had been murdered not just by 7th-century fanatical terrorists, but by cruel Dark-Age murderers who, in the best parasitical fashion, had managed to gnaw at their distracted host from the inside.

“That duplicity was eerie and creepy — the premeditated design of Middle Easterners to live among and blend in for months with the very culture they despised and wished to destroy. Their hatred soon translated into sixteen acres of ash in Manhattan and a smoking Pentagon…”

Peter Wehner, Commentary: BO’s Wings of Wax

“Presidencies can go through various stages in terms of their effect on the opposition – from eliciting respect and some amount of fear, to provoking anger, to becoming the object of ridicule.

“Barack Obama has reached the third stage.

“Dana Milbank of the Washington Post has written a column in which he cites passages from Obama’s speech to a joint session of Congress last night and then chronicles the reaction among congressional Republicans, which included chuckles, guffaws and giggles. Hostility to Obama has given way to indifference to what he says; witness the fact the GOP did not even feel the need to provide a televised response to Obama’s speech. And of course, it didn’t help that the president’s address was relegated to pre-primetime, in order not to compete with an NFL game.

“Just as significantly, Milbank reports there were empty seats on the Democratic side last night…”

Mike Barbaro et al., NYT!: Dems Fret about BO’s Chances

“…Elected officials and party leaders at all levels said their worries have intensified as the economy has displayed new signs of weakness. They said the likelihood of a highly competitive 2012 race is increasing as the Republican field, once dismissed by many Democrats as too inexperienced and conservative to pose a serious threat, has started narrowing to two leading candidates, Mitt Romney and Rick Perry, who have executive experience and messages built around job creation.

“And in a campaign cycle in which Democrats had entertained hopes of reversing losses from last year’s midterm elections, some in the party fear that Mr. Obama’s troubles could reverberate down the ballot into Congressional, state and local races…”

Maureen Dowd, NYT: She’s catching on!

And so are we…the libs only gain…as they have for a century…when we “compromise” principles…

“The president was strong and House Republicans were conciliatory.

“There was only one teensy-weensy problem: The president is weak and House Republicans are obstructionist.

“Congressional Republicans, heeding polls indicating that their all-out assault on President Obama was risky, finally tempered their public comments after the jobs speech on Thursday and stopped acting like big jerks.

“Obama, heeding plummeting polls and beseeching voices from his despairing base, finally deigned to get tough.

“In the capital of political tactics, it was just another fine day of faking it…”

Kurt Schlichter, Washington Examiner: Rick Perry – High Noon for Trial Lawyers

“There’s only one group less happy about Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s rise than the Romney campaign.

“It’s not President Obama’s crew. They think they can paint Perry as a Lone Star wacko whose job creation record is awesome — if you like working with mops and buckets.

“It’s not unionized federal workers. If Perry wins, they’ll lean back and gobble muffins until the next liberal president comes along.

“It’s not even the secular urban liberals who suspect Perry’s agenda includes mandatory Sunday school and outlawing sex.

“It’s the lawyers. For GOP pols, tort reform is a stump speech perennial. Yet, like the weather, Republicans always talk about tort reform but never do anything about it.

“But lawyers who annually siphon billions from the economy know that Perry is just crazy enough to actually push it through because he already has.”

Andy McCarthy, NRO: Mafiosi & Mullahs

“…Commissioner Ray Kelly’s police department has pioneered a counterterrorism strategy that has safeguarded New York City, the jihad’s No. 1 target, since jihadists destroyed the twin towers ten years ago tomorrow. Yet, as my column last weekend related, Kelly and the NYPD continue to be targets of an Associated Press smear campaign, bringing down the same hidebound indictment Islamist organizations and the Lawyer Left trot out against any counterterrorism strategy worth having: that it means profiling, domestic spying, and Islamophobia.

“This week, that campaign continued with AP’s latest installment, wherein correspondent Adam Goldman bewails the special attention the NYPD has paid to mosques and what he preciously describes as “Muslim student groups.”

“Not surprisingly, I caught some flak for contending that the AP is dutifully carrying water for the Obama administration, which has urged a strategy for combatting terrorism that is very different from the NYPD’s — a strategy that resists even using the word “terrorism.” So I am grateful to Mr. Goldman for removing any doubt…

McClatchy: Israel’s Tsunami

“…Israel was forced to evacuate its ambassador and most of its diplomatic staff from Cairo this weekend after hundreds of Egyptian protesters tore down a security wall protecting the Nile-side embassy, ransacked its files and burned an Israeli flag. It came less than a week after Turkey, Israel’s other major ally in the Muslim world, announced it was expelling the Israeli ambassador and downgrading its relationship to the lowest possible level after a deadly skirmish involving a Turkish aid vessel that was attempting to deliver supplies in defiance of Israel’s blockade of the Gaza Strip.

“With another potential predicament brewing later this month when the Palestinians are expected to request membership and statehood at the United Nations, Israeli-Arab relations appear to be plunging to their lowest point in years…”

Reza Kalili, PJM: Iran’s EMP Coming Soon

“…In less than a billionth of a second, the electrical intensity on Earth becomes so hot that microchips fry, power lines overload, and the electrical grid collapses. Everything with microelectronics in it fails.

“Within days, tens of millions of Americans will need to leave their homes looking for water and food. Within five to 10 days, due to water pollution and sanitation issues, many will fall ill — people across America will face starvation, disease, and death. In just one year after the attack, up to two-thirds of the American population will cease to exist.

“Our enemies know this. The radicals ruling Iran have openly talked about it as they have called for the destruction of America and a new world order that excludes America. While pursuing their nuclear bomb project, the Revolutionary Guards of Iran have successfully test-launched a ballistic missile from a ship in the Caspian Sea. Recently, they also announced that all their vessels now have been armed with long-range ballistic missiles, and that soon they will start a mission in the Atlantic Ocean that extends into the Gulf of Mexico…”

NYT: In Praise of Sarah…

Thanks Lou,

The talk hosts predict libs praising Sarah in order to split TEA…I understand Newt takes the role not of an active candidate but of an active referee on how the media treat us… Our candidates debate each other but remain united as if a republic…good stuff!

“She made three interlocking points. First, that the United States is now governed by a “permanent political class,” drawn from both parties, that is increasingly cut off from the concerns of regular people. Second, that these Republicans and Democrats have allied with big business to mutual advantage to create what she called ‘corporate crony capitalism.’ Third, that the real political divide in the United States may no longer be between friends and foes of Big Government, but between friends and foes of vast, remote, unaccountable institutions (both public and private).”

Matt Patterson, Washington Examiner: New Climate Science …

“Big Green environmentalists and allied politicians have an effective tool in advancing their legislative agenda: Fear of global warming and its alleged catastrophic consequences.

“Unfortunately, regulations designed to restrict carbon emissions — and therefore “save the planet” — burden energy producers with unsustainable costs and limitations, leading to higher energy prices for consumers when many families cannot afford to pay more to heat and light their homes.

“At a time when the United States (and much of the world) teeters on the abyss of fiscal collapse thanks to staggering levels of debt and deficits, the cure environmentalists prescribe for the global warming “fever” would amount to nothing less than economic suicide.

“But, as the latest science shows, man-made global warming may be nothing more than a man-made myth after all…”

Matthew Boyle, Daily Caller: “Fast & Furious” into the White House

“…The written request from Capitol Hill came shortly after it was discovered that the lead ATF agent on Operation Fast and Furious, William Newell, communicated with three White House officials about some details of the operation.

“The three White House officials reported to have communicated with Newell on the botched ATF program are Kevin M. O’Reilly, director of North American Affairs for the White House national security staff; Dan Restrepo, the president’s senior Latin American advisor; and Greg Gatjanis, a White House national security official…”
